Regency Centers leverages Intermedia Private Cloud to scale their business for growth

Intermedia gives Regency Centers the control and flexibility of a dedicated on-premise environment backed by the power of the cloud


Intermedia, a one-stop shop for cloud IT services, today announced that Regency Centers has chosen Intermedia Private Cloud to integrate and customize existing business applications to help scale their business as they grow.  

Regency Centers, a national owner, operator and developer of 321 grocery-anchored retail centers, needed a secure, dedicated platform that would integrate their custom archiving, unified messaging and email signature solution with Hosted Exchange while still meeting their legal, business and branding requirements.

“In 2010 we moved from an internally hosted Exchange environment to Intermedia’s Hosted Exchange. As our company grew, we needed a way to effortlessly integrate Symantec LiveOffice, Cisco Unity Connection and eMailSignature with our email solution. We were reluctant to give up the reliability, support and ease of management we came to rely on with Intermedia’s Hosted Exchange,” said Dale Johnston, Chief Information Officer at Regency Centers. “Intermedia Private Cloud gave us the best of both worlds.  We get the control and flexibility of a dedicated environment that integrates with Hosted Exchange and is tailor-made to address our IT specific needs.”

Working closely alongside Intermedia’s dedicated project team, Regency Centers was able to integrate Hosted Exchange with its existing business applications. This required agents to run on the Exchange server and a VPN tunnel connecting to the software applications running either in a third-party cloud or at Regency’s data center.

The customization and integration of these services allows Regency employees to respond to customer inquiries and requests in a more timely and efficient manner, while increasing business productivity. The transition to private cloud also allowed the company to upgrade to Exchange 2010, giving employees access to the enhanced Outlook Web Access console, further helping to boost efficiency.

Provisioning Intermedia’s Private Cloud was quick and seamless. The process took 30 days from start to finish, including platform configuration, testing and the two-day mailbox migration.
