Michael Gold

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Mike is the Chairman & CEO of Intermedia Cloud Communications, a Sunnyvale, California based cloud communications and collaboration software company. Mike joined Intermedia in 2011 when he co-led the acquisition of the company from its founder by Oak Hill Capital and management. In 2017, Madison Dearborn Partners and management acquired the company. Intermedia’s 1400 global employees develop and deliver a comprehensive set of both branded and private label cloud communications and collaboration applications to 150k businesses worldwide through a growing network of 7,500 telcos, service providers, and IT firms. Intermedia has grown revenues and profits over 7x under Mike’s leadership.

Prior to Intermedia, Mike held a variety of leadership roles in the communications and technology space, including CEO of software companies Vicorp (now part of Motorola) and Sphera (now part of Ingram Micro), and SVP of Qwest Communications (now part of Lumen) where he launched Qwest's datacenter business.

Mike holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois and an MBA from Stanford University.

Jason Veldhuis

Chief Financial Officer

Jason Veldhuis is responsible for all of Intermedia’s global financial functions, including the company’s accounting, financial planning and analysis, treasury, tax and corporate development functions.

Veldhuis joined Intermedia in 2011 as part of the acquisition of the company by Oak Hill Capital Partners, taking on the role of Director of FP&A & Corporate Development. He was most recently VP of Corporate Development & Strategy. Prior to Intermedia, Veldhuis was an Associate at Oak Hill Capital Partners, responsible for investments in the technology sector. Veldhuis began his career as an investment banking analyst in the financial sponsors group at Citigroup. Veldhuis earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics, summa cum laude, from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Jonathan McCormick

Chief Operating Officer and Chief Revenue Officer

Jonathan McCormick manages all aspects of operations, client services, and sales for Intermedia. McCormick pulls from his 20+ years of experience to provide 24x7 managed services support to customers and partners. With Intermedia since 2007, McCormick has played an integral role in bringing a number of industry firsts to market for the company including securing Intermedia's Assisted Technical Support certification from J.D. Power and Associates and TSIA – a first for the cloud software industry.

As Intermedia's CRO, McCormick oversees all aspects of Intermedia’s direct and partner sales, including inbound sales, field sales, sales enablement and engineering, distribution and strategic communities, sales operations, and business and partner development. In 2019, he was named as one of CRN's "Most Influential Channel Chiefs."

Prior to Intermedia, McCormick managed all global operations and customer service as an SVP of Operations at SAVVIS, the global provider of managed hosting, network, and collocation facilities. While there, McCormick was one of the key individuals responsible for building SAVVIS' Managed Hosting business, taking it from conception in 2001 to the leading position in Gartner's Magic Quadrant.

McCormick is frequently sought after as a thought leader in the business communications space to add commentary on industry trends and events. McCormick’s leadership viewpoints have been published in such outlets as Network World, eWeek and SC Magazine, to name a few. McCormick holds a double major in Psychology and Economics from Trinity College in Hartford, CT.

Scott Anderson

Chief Marketing Officer

Scott Anderson is responsible for Intermedia's global marketing, encompassing strategy, product, brand, field, channel, and digital marketing, as well as internal and external communications. Anderson joined Intermedia in the fall of 2018.

Under Anderson's leadership, Intermedia has seen a significant transformation and growth in its marketing capabilities and brand presence. He has been instrumental in executing the go-to-market strategy for Intermedia as a channel-first company and building an industry-leading channel marketing growth engine. This strategic focus has helped establish Intermedia as a leading brand in the channel space, critical for its business success.

His innovative strategies have also expanded the adoption of Intermedia's cloud communications portfolio, now serving over 140,000 businesses and 7,500 channel partners globally. Anderson’s brand initiatives have significantly increased awareness among not just partners, but business customers, analysts, and the broader market, positioning Intermedia as a cloud communications leader. This is evidenced by numerous awards, including CRN's Top Unified Communications and Collaboration Product for Intermedia Unite®, PC Mag's Best Overall Business VoIP recognition, U.S. News & World Report's Best Business Phone System, and Forbes' Best All-In-One UCaaS Solution.

Before joining Intermedia, Anderson served as Chief Marketing Officer at Sitecore, where he transformed the brand to achieve industry leadership in the digital experience platform category. He has also held marketing leadership roles at Hewlett Packard, Sun Microsystems (now Oracle), Bazaarvoice, and Herring Newman Advertising. His contributions have garnered significant industry recognition, such as Top 100 Global B2B Marketer by Hot Topics and Top Digital Marketer by BtoB Magazine (now Ad Age).

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Anderson is a contributor to Forbes, where he shares valuable insights on marketing strategies and industry trends. He holds a Master of International Management degree in Marketing from Thunderbird School of Global Management (now Arizona State University) and a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Western Washington University.

Andrew Gachechiladze

Chief Engineering and Development Officer

Andrew Gachechiladze leads Intermedia’s product development and engineering groups, overseeing all software development for Intermedia’s cloud platform.

With the company since 2001, Gachechiladze has set the foundation for Intermedia’s cloud management and partner portal platforms. He’s been directly involved in scaling the broad suite of integrated cloud applications Intermedia offers today, including third-party products such as Microsoft® Office 365® and proprietary offerings like unified communications, SecuriSync all-in-one backup and file sharing, and our security services portfolio. Further strengthening Intermedia’s solution portfolio, Gachechiladze has also played an integral role in two successful acquisitions.

Under Gachechiladze’s leadership, the development team has grown from a group of less than 10 individuals to 100+; from a single office to four different development centers using multiple technologies, including Mountain View, CA, Bellevue, WA, St. Petersburg, Russia and Bristol, UK.

During his tenure with the company, Gachechiladze has previously been a senior software developer and a product manager for cloud-based Exchange. Prior to Intermedia, Gachechiladze has held technical and software development roles with a range of companies, including ThinkWave, a cloud-based school administration system. Gachechiladze has a Masters degree in Physics and Computer Science from Tbilisi State University.

 

Irina Shamkova

Chief Product Officer

Irina Shamkova is responsible for designing and driving Intermedia's product strategy. Over Irina's 17+ year tenure at Intermedia, she has built and led high-performance Product Management, Project Management, UI/UX, and Customer Experience teams and processes.

Under Irina's leadership, Intermedia's proprietary product portfolio has expanded to cover a broad yet tightly integrated suite of cloud applications, including Cloud Voice, SecuriSync® backup and file sharing and Intermedia Email Protection. Shamkova was also integral to Intermedia’s significant UCaaS market expansion with the February 2018 launch of Intermedia Unite™.

Irina has helped establish Intermedia as a leading channel provider of business cloud applications by overseeing the development of key differentiators that allow partners to sell services under their own brand. This includes pioneering the first brandable web-based control panel to centralize and automate account management and service provisioning. Through integrated portals, partners can educate themselves, generate leads, drive sales and support customers from a single source throughout the customer lifecycle. Irina is a CRN Power 100, along with being one of CRN's Women of the Channel several years running.

Irina holds a Masters in Applied Mathematics from Saint Petersburg State University in Russia and has completed the General Management Program at Harvard University.

 

Jonathan Levine

Chief Technology Officer

Jonathan Levine joined Intermedia in 2015, bringing with him 25+ years of experience in information technology, cloud operations, data analytics, software development and corporate strategy. Levine is responsible for the company’s technology strategy, ensuring that Intermedia continues to deliver the security, availability, and value that customers and partners depend on.

Prior to Intermedia, Levine served in a wide variety of senior leadership roles at Japanese leading e-commerce and internet service company, Rakuten. Most recently, he was the Vice Managing Director of Rakuten Group’s Development Unit, where he was responsible for global technology and corporate infrastructure and established Rakuten’s Next Generation Data Center, Private Cloud, Backbone Network and Global Development and Operation Center. Levine was also a board member of Fusion Communications, Rakuten’s telecommunications carrier, ISP and public cloud subsidiary. Previously, he served as Board Director, Chief Operating Officer, co-President and CTO of Rakuten’s Online Advertising Subsidiary LinkShare. During his tenure, Rakuten expanded from fewer than 50 employees to more than 10,000. Prior to his long career at Rakuten, Levine was co-founder and VP of Engineering at ePhysician. Levine has also held management positions at PointCast, IBM, and Lotus Development.

Levine holds a bachelor’s degree in Cognitive Science from the University of Pennsylvania and is the Board Director for the New York Theatre Ballet. He has five online marketing and database technology patents and is the co-author of two books on e-commerce and Java technology.

Jeff Eisenberg

Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel

Jeff Eisenberg joined Intermedia in October 2014. Eisenberg is responsible for all of Intermedia’s legal affairs, including commercial agreements, intellectual property strategy, litigation, regulatory compliance, M&A transactions and corporate governance.

Before joining Intermedia, Eisenberg spent over seven years with KLA-Tencor Corporation, where he oversaw the company’s corporate legal matters, including securities law compliance, M&A activity, corporate governance and a diverse range of other areas. Prior to that, he served in a corporate legal role with Mercury Interactive Corporation, which eventually included managing the sale of the company to Hewlett-Packard Corporation.

Before moving in-house, Eisenberg focused on corporate and securities law and M&A at law firms Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati and O’Melveny & Myers.

Eisenberg obtained his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania and his bachelor’s degree in Economics (with a minor in Business Administration) from the University of California at Berkeley.

Urvashi Sheth

Chief Customer Officer

As the Chief Customer Officer of Intermedia, Urvashi Sheth is responsible for Global Client Services including Customer Success, Onboarding, Technical Support, Customer Service, and Partner Success Management. Sheth joined Intermedia in September 2019.

Urvashi Sheth is a leader in Global Customer Support and Customer Success with over 20 years of experience building and directing multi-tiered, AI & ML-based, omni-channel customer support and service operations for startups to Fortune 500 companies. Previously Sheth managed Global Customer Care & Warranty Operations for Western Digital & SanDisk.

Urvashi is highly regarded for her expertise in generative AI (Gen-AI) and machine learning (ML) automation. She skillfully anticipates the potential of advanced technologies and applies them strategically. At Intermedia, Urvashi has been instrumental in shaping customer success and support strategies. Her visionary leadership has integrated AI and ML into sales and support operations successfully. 

Sheth earned her bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Mumbai and her MBA from the University of San Francisco’s Graduate School of Management.

Elizabeth Mye

SVP of Human Resources

Elizabeth Mye is responsible for Intermedia’s global human resource function with a focus on attracting top talent, upskilling employees, developing our leaders of tomorrow and fostering a culture of learning, accountability and respect. The human resource operation encompasses organizational development, workforce staffing, planning and recruitment; executive and total compensation management and rewards; training and professional development; core values and culture; benefits management; employee relations and performance management; corporate policy development; immigration and work authorization management and regulatory compliance. Mye joined Intermedia in November of 2011.

With over 25 years' human resource leadership experience, Mye has made a career of building human resource success in high growth emerging companies as well as Fortune 100 national and international organizations in the technology, technology consulting services, biotechnology, healthcare and consumer products industries. Her focus and success have been in the ability to build scalable and practical corporate human resource solutions in high change, rapid growth start-up business environments. 

Previous to Intermedia, Mye held human resource leadership roles at NetSuite, Berkeley HeartLab, Computer Sciences Corporation, Cambridge Technology Partners and Thinking Machines. Mye’s leadership viewpoints have been published in such outlets as Authority Magazine, Buzzfeed, CIO Dive and Tech Target. Mye holds a bachelor’s degree (with economic studies) from the University of Massachusetts.

Makoto Omi

President of Intermedia Japan

Makoto Omi joined Intermedia in 2021, bringing with him 30+ years of experience of a wide range of expertise in unified communications.

Omi is responsible for the company’s business development in Japan.

Prior to Intermedia, Omi served in a wide variety of leadership roles at Japanese leading IT and network manufacturer and systems integrator, NEC Corporation and its subsidiaries.

Most recently, he was SVP of NEC Platforms, where he was responsible for global operations of the unified communications line of business including 11 consolidated overseas subsidiaries. Previously, he held leadership positions in NEC Corporation of America and several divisions in NEC  Corporation. He was engaged in sales, marketing, product management, and financial planning in the unified communications line of business, Americas business management, and retail solutions business management in Japan.

Omi holds a BA from Sophia University in Japan and an MBA from Boston University.

Brendan T. Barrett

Managing Director, Madison Dearborn Partners

Prior to joining Madison Dearborn Partners (MDP), Brendan Barrett was with Morgan Stanley and with MDP as an Associate for three years. In addition to Intermedia, Barrett currently serves on the Board of Directors of EVO Payments International. Barrett earned B.A. and B.B.A degrees from University of Notre Dame, and an M.B.A. from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.

Gerhard Bette

Senior Partner Emeritus, McKinsey & Company, Inc.

Gerhard Bette is a Senior Partner Emeritus of McKinsey & Company, Inc., the global consulting firm. For more than 28 years, Bette worked with leading global institutions. His particular focus was building and advising senior teams within technology-based companies, covering telecom, IT, and healthcare industries. He was a co-founder of McKinsey’s global telecommunication practice and led its North American region.

Since his retirement from McKinsey’s Chicago office at the end of 2010, Bette has been an active advisor to several private equity and alternative investment firms on due diligence, portfolio company management, and business building topics. He is a member of Madison Dearborn Partners’ Telecom Media and Technology Roundtable. Madison Dearborn Partners acquired Intermedia in 2017. He has served and continues to serve on the board of several private equity portfolio companies for Madison Dearborn Partners and other private equity companies.

For more than a decade, Bette has also been an Adjunct Lecturer at the Department of Management and Organization at the Kellogg School of Management of Northwestern University where he taught classes on professional service firms, problem-solving and business building.

Bette holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School and a Doctorate in Mathematics from the University of Duisburg, Germany. He also studied Mathematics at the Universite Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris with post-graduate scholarships from the French and German governments.

André Christensen

Chief Executive Officer and Founder, Quickplay (formerly Firstlight Media)

André Christensen has extensive strategic and operational experience from the Media, Internet, and High Tech industries across Europe, North America and Asia from the last 25 years. Mr. Christensen is the founder and CEO of Quickplay, the leading platform for entertainment services used by content providers and PayTV operators across 50+ markets globally. Before this, he headed product development for AT&T Entertainment services in Los Angeles. He came through the acquisition of QuickPlay Media, a leading OTT/IPTV tech platform, where he was the COO and a co-owner based in Toronto/San Diego/Chennai. Prior to this, Mr. Christensen was the SVP Business Operations and Strategy at Yahoo globally based in Sunnyvale after 12 years with McKinsey & Company as a partner establishing and leading the Business Technology practice in Canada as well as the Global Operating Model service line worldwide. He has an MSc/DiplKfm degree from the University of Mannheim, Germany.

Cindy Fiorillo

Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, Alorica, Inc. - Retired

Ms. Fiorillo served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Alorica, Inc., a leading provider of call center services, from 2017 to 2018, before retiring in 2018. Prior to Alorica, from 2010 to 2016, Ms. Fiorillo served as the Senior Vice President of Finance and in 2014 added Corporate Controller and Principal Accounting Officer to her role at Broadcom Corporation, where she managed all aspects of accounting, as well as financial planning and analysis, and strategic planning.

Before joining Broadcom, Ms. Fiorillo worked at Sun Microsystems, Inc. for 18 years in a number of finance-related roles including Vice President of Finance overseeing internal audit, Vice President of Finance supporting worldwide operations, and Vice President of Finance supporting the Sales and Service organizations.

Ms. Fiorillo earned both a bachelors in business administration and a masters in accounting from Western New England University.

Jason Shideler

Managing Director, Madison Dearborn Partners

Jason Shideler is a Managing Director and Co-Head of the MDP Healthcare team.

Shideler joined MDP in 2006 as an Associate and re-joined after business school in 2010. Shideler serves on the Board of Directors of Kaufman Hall and Performance Health. He formerly served on the Board of Directors of Alcami, Ikaria, Sage Products and Syntellis Performance Solutions, and was actively involved in MDP's investment in VWR.

Shideler holds a BS degree from the University of Texas and an MBA from Stanford University

Timothy P. Sullivan

Co-CEO, Madison Dearborn Partners

Tim Sullivan is Co-CEO of MDP. Prior to co-founding MDP, Sullivan was with First Chicago Venture Capital for four years after having served in the U.S. Navy. Sullivan currently serves on the Boards of Directors of APM, Kaufman Hall, Option Care, Performance Health, and Solis Mammography, and formerly served on the Board of Directors of Alcami, Sage Products, Sevita Health, Syntellis Performance Solutions, and VWR International. He also serves on the Boards of Trustees of Northwestern University, Northwestern Memorial Healthcare, The United States Naval Academy Foundation and The Big Shoulders Fund. Additionally, he serves on the Finance and Investment Committees of the Archdiocese of Chicago.

Sullivan earned his BS degree from the United States Naval Academy and an MS degree from the University of Southern California. He also holds an MBA from Stanford University.

Since MDP's formation in 1992, the firm has raised seven funds with aggregate capital of approximately $23 billion and has completed investments in over 130 companies.
