Intermedia, the world’s best Microsoft Exchange hosting provider, today made Microsoft Outlook for Mac available for download to its Mac OS X-based hosted Exchange customers and partners. In response to thousands of requests from Intermedia's worldwide Mac and iPhone community, Intermedia customers on select hosted Exchange plans are able to download the software – and upgrades to future versions – as part of their service.

Exchange hosting is necessary to power Outlook for Mac’s top collaboration features, such as calendar sharing. The new Outlook for Mac replaces Entourage and contains a number of features to allow increased productivity. Highlights include:

• High speed file-based database with support for backing up files with Time Machine and Spotlight searching.
• Conversation view which takes all the messages from the same topic and puts them together in order to better manage and track conversations.
• Revamped Ribbons interface lets users switch between the classic Mac menu and Microsoft’s toolbar.
• Constructed on Cocoa to make integration with Mac OS easier.
