Powered by Mozy, automatically backs up server data to the cloud
2011-05-17
Intermedia, the world’s largest Microsoft Exchange hosting provider, today launched a server backup option to its Online Backup service. The new feature allows customers to back up their Windows servers including versions 2000, 2003, and 2008 – protecting their server-based data in case of hardware issues or in the event a file is accidentally overwritten. Intermedia Online Backup also includes a desktop version – launched in April 2011 – that enables companies to automatically back up files on their employees’ desktops and laptops. The service is powered by Mozy™, an online backup service from EMC Corporation (NYSE: EMC).
Businesses set up and manage Online Backup – both the server and desktop versions – from Intermedia’s HostPilot® Control Panel. HostPilot is used to manage all Intermedia cloud services, including the company’s popular hosted Exchange email and VoIP calling services. Intermedia’s integrated approach gives companies access to the cloud services required to run their business, sparing them from having to use multiple control panels or pay multiple bills.
Intermedia Online Backup is:
- Simple to set up and manage. Administrators manage Online Backup directly from HostPilot Control Panel, where they can add users, view backup status for each computer, restore lost files, and manage storage.
- A secure way to back up files to the cloud. Users of the server version can add SQL servers and file servers to their backup sets.
- A critical part of sound business operations: Server issues and malfunctions can set businesses back years or permanently, just as lost and damaged laptops and desktops can.
Online Backup is also available for resale by Intermedia’s Private Label Partners.
