Intermedia Email Protection is an add-on service for Intermedia Exchange Email and Microsoft 365 email from Intermedia designed to protect your organization from sophisticated, real-time email threats from cyberattacks that can cripple or even take down your business.

It uses a layered defense approach with multiple security engines to achieve very high accuracy in identifying traditional threats, such as spam, viruses, malware and phishing attacks that involve previously identified suspicious senders. Intermedia Email Protection services also provide malicious link protection that detects and neutralizes suspicious links, as well as anti-phishing and anti-spoofing protection software.

AI Guardian provides an additional layer of security against sophisticated, socially engineered Business Email Compromise (BEC) attacks designed to evade traditional detection. It adds advanced email protection through natural language understanding, artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced data science techniques. AI Guardian detects and stops targeted attacks and automatically remediates based on configurable actions.

According to the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), four critical actions can be taken to help protect online communications, such as email:

  • Use strong passwords that are long, random, unique and include multiple character types
  • Turn on Multifactor Authentication (MFA) for all online accounts, especially email
  • Recognize and report phishing attacks to limit cybercriminals
