Company’s partner community sees 74 percent increase in mailbox sales

Intermedia, the world's largest Microsoft Exchange hosting provider, today reported explosive growth in its hosted Exchange 2010 customer base. Intermedia was "first-to-market" with the service in November 2009, moments after Microsoft announced the availability of its Exchange Server 2010 software.
Highlights of Intermedia's hosted Exchange 2010 launch include:
- 1,400 direct customers with 20,000 mailboxes on board since the service's November debut. Smaller businesses were the early adopters of hosted Exchange 2010. By April, 90 percent of new accounts were selecting it over hosted Exchange 2007, cementing hosted Exchange 2010's status as the platform of choice. Intermedia is seeing strong demand from in-house Exchange 2003 and 2000 environments upgrading to the latest version of Exchange.
- 74 percent increase in partner mailbox sales. Intermedia's partners differentiate themselves by offering hosted Exchange 2010 while competitors sell Exchange 2007. Customers avoid a second migration by switching to the latest version of Exchange.
- Average 200 new partner sign-ups per month since launch. Over 4,000 private label partners and affiliates are now part of Intermedia's Partner Program. Private label partners resell hosted Exchange 2010 under their own brand, controlling pricing and billing. Affiliates earn commission referring Intermedia’s service.
- Enhanced Outlook Web Application (OWA) with built-in instant messaging. Exchange 2010's OWA enables remote access from popular web browsers and supports integration with secure instant messaging, allowing users to access the power of Exchange from virtually anywhere. Exchange 2007’s web access does not include instant messaging and fully functions only on Internet Explorer.
Intermedia’s hosted Exchange 2010 launch, combined with its hosted Exchange 2007 sales, place Q1 2010 among the company's strongest quarterly sales performances to date. April sales continued the momentum and are among the highest in company history. Intermedia remains the only major provider of hosted Exchange 2010.
"Our success comes not only from offering Exchange 2010, but adding proprietary value to it," says Serguei Sofinski, CEO, Intermedia. "For instance, Intermedia customers move to the cloud at their own pace with our proprietary tool to synchronize user passwords across hosted Exchange and applications that remain on-premise. Our partners can also use this tool with their own customers. Features such as these solve real business problems and help make our customers and partners more successful."
Intermedia's hosted Exchange 2010 includes migration from a new customer’s current email set-up and 24x7 support from RIM and Microsoft-certified support staff. According to Guy Timberlake, CEO, The American Small Business Coalition, "Our organization chose Intermedia's hosted Exchange as our email solution after researching and trying various platforms and providers. The transition to Exchange 2010 was completed flawlessly by the Intermedia Support Team. The advantages over alternative email platforms are astonishing. The increased support for wireless devices and an amazing Outlook Web Application make accessing important mail and other company information safe, secure and simple."
In addition to hosted Exchange 2010, Intermedia offers a suite of hosted communications and collaboration software, including Office Communications Server 2007, SharePoint and Exchange 2007, as well as an ecosystem of related offerings including support for BlackBerry Enterprise Server, fax lines and more.
