User Empowered Identity takes a people-centric approach to security by allowing users to respond to suspicious activities associated with their identity

Digital identities need to be protected and secured. Who best to do this than the identity owner? Intermedia today introduced “User Empowered Identity” as part of its Intermedia AppID Enterprise® solution. This new feature allows individual users to respond directly to suspicious activity associated with their identity through a real-time alert in the browser or two-way “out-of-band” SMS text message to the user.
User Empowered Identity provides users with real-time notifications when suspicious events occur and empowers them to perform immediate and appropriate responses.
For instance, if an attacker were to attempt to log in with a user’s identity from a different country, the user would be presented with a security notification in the browser or via SMS text message. Whereas an operations team may not be aware of the individual’s location, the user will know their location, whether the access attempt is legitimate, and if an action should be taken.
As individual users are the best source to identify suspicious account activity, Intermedia AppID Enterprise offers them a detailed view into a particular event giving the user the option to respond to it, or ignore it. The response might be to disable the account or immediately change a password. This gives companies that adopt Intermedia AppID Enterprise a higher level of assurance that their data and user accounts are protected.
