Ransomware keeps striking
You may recall that in early July, millions of Office 365™ users were targeted with a Cerber ransomware attack. Spread through an email attachment, the malware encrypted users’ files and rendered them inaccessible unless a ransom was paid.
A couple of weeks ago, a new strain of ransomware emerged, which uses the User Datagram Protocol (UDP) to communicate and involves Google Maps and Imgur photo sharing service.
These new attacks show that Ransomware is continuing to evolve and still poses a serious issue. And although there is no way to fully prevent ransomware attacks from happening, you can take steps to protect your customers by educating them and deploying tools, like SecuriSync® from Intermedia, to help reduce downtime.
Recover from ransomware attacks faster with SecuriSync
When ransomware hits, the issue isn’t paying the ransom. It’s watching your customers sit around unable to get work done for hours — or days. Our research shows that 61% of businesses were left without access to files for 3 or more days after a ransomware attack.
SecuriSync’s backup feature with point-in-time file restoration helps to reduce the effects of a ransomware attack by allowing you to more quickly restore access to files so your customers can continue working during an outbreak.
This gives you time to isolate the infected computers and reimage them without having to pay the ransom or worry that your customers are sitting around unable to work. Business can continue forward while you clean up the malware.
File restoration can also be a lucrative professional service you can add to your portfolio. Learn more about driving revenue with SecuriSync by listening to our recent webinar. You can find it on the Partner Sales Portal.
