They gave the new backup features in SecuriSync a try. Now hear what the experts think…
A few weeks ago, we launched some great backup and restore features for SecuriSync®. Now that some of our partners and customers have had a chance to put these features through their paces, I thought it would be interesting to check in with them and see what they think:
Luke Skibba, IT administrator, GigabitGeek. “With these new SecuriSync features in place, we’d be able to recover items on the desktop and return to operations quickly should a virus or malware attack occur. One of the biggest pain points for any company is downtime. Being able to go from weeks or days to minutes will change the game of fighting ransomware for Intermedia’s SecuriSync customers.”
Koert Council, Partner, Kosh Solutions. “We’re excited by SecuriSync and already use the product a lot internally. One of the biggest customer queries we receive is related to our clients needing help with restoring a computer with a damaged, failed hard drive, or that’s been infected with ransomware. With these new SecuriSync features, getting our clients access to the documents they need after a computer is dropped or stolen will take just minutes—resulting in a great productivity increase for both us and our clients.”
Along with customer and partner evaluations, I also asked industry analysts to weigh in. They had some interesting things to say about the nature of backup and how SecuriSync’s new features impact the category.
Sara Radicati, President & CEO, The Radicati Group. “Backup is a crucial component of IT services and Intermedia is addressing this need by integrating backup with its SecuriSync file sync and share service. The fact that SecuriSync backup and file sharing is available and can be managed on a common platform with hosted Exchange, email security, voice and other cloud services will allow business decision makers and reseller partners to easily create a secure and compliant environment without the risks involved in piecing together solutions from multiple providers. Intermedia offers a well thought out and fully integrated solution that addresses the evolving collaboration needs of their customers.”
Sheryl Kingstone, Director of Research, 451 Research. “Traditional business cloud backup providers have offered users excellent passive file protection. But the introduction of file sync and share products have changed the way in which people are using their data. This has reduced backup’s viability. We’re seeing the need for a convergence of the backup and file sharing categories. Real-time backup eliminates data loss risks presented by point-in-time backup solutions. Further, by eliminating the need for two different apps, businesses can reduce IT management burdens, while gaining an intuitive collaboration solution for managing and protecting user files.”
