Cloud sprawl: when less is more
Intermedia’s CRO, Eric Martorano just posted a great article on his LinkedIn page about the cloud landscape and the topic of “cloud sprawl”. Be sure to give it a read.
Cloud sprawl refers to the adoption of multiple cloud providers. While the cloud lends itself to greater security, scalability, and flexibility, adopting too many cloud vendors can often have the opposite effect – a substantial loss of cloud services control.
Why can cloud sprawl be detrimental to growing companies? It can disrupt operations and make accurate product distribution increasingly difficult. It can also make it difficult to pinpoint system vulnerabilities and service inefficiencies. System redundancy can also result in billing management challenges and technical support frustrations.
