About The Role:

Intermedia is looking for a Manager of Systems Administration to lead our global team of systems administrators.  Your responsibilities include supervising an international team of technical staff to support the configuration, installation, maintenance and ongoing support of various servers, systems and technologies in support of services provided to all Intermedia employees and contractors. The Manager will participate and provide leadership in design, deployment and management of servers, systems and technologies infrastructure under ITIL service management principles, and ensure high availability, performance and security of mission critical systems in fast paced technical environment

What you will be doing:

  • Work collaboratively with other engineers, IT Operations, vendors, and leadership to provide system support for application implementation and upgrade projects, as well as 24x7 system administration support for mission critical and business applications
  • Staff and resource management, project management, change management, problem management and process improvement
  • Automation for server provisioning, technical review and analysis, and recommendation for system solutions to meet current and future needs of business operations
  • Participating in recruitment and selection of new team members, performance management and professional development
  • Provide leadership, vision, management and strategic planning for the Systems Administration team 
  • Manage and maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees
  • Establish departmental goals, objectives, and operating procedures
  • Liaise with department heads regularly to determine their needs and define SLAs between the global IT Systems Administration team and other departments
  • Define and deliver strategic plans for implementing information technologies that affect end-users
  • Develop, track, and manage the global IT Systems Administration operating and capital budgets. Meet financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures & analyzing variances
  • Oversee the maintenance, deployment and implementation of all corporate server software, applications, systems
  • Assist with security audits and investigations of corporate systems and data when needed
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; industry conferences; professional publications; benchmarking industry best practices
  • Demonstrated skills in systems analysis, establishing benchmarks, identifying problems & recommending solutions
  • Demonstrated experience with developing scripts that automate systems administration tasks, package deployment and reporting
  • Demonstrated experience in server monitoring, patching and configuration management
  • Demonstrated experience in the server design, provisioning and management in VMWare and Azure/0365 environments; familiarity with high-availability systems, failover, virtualization and business continuity planning
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and prepare project plans and schedules with only general guidance; skill in estimating time and effort required for software tasks and projects.
  • Demonstrated experience with the application of industry standard practices and principals in the design and configuration of systems/networks
  • Skilled in communicating effectively both orally and in writing; ability to create comprehensive technical documentation; develop and deliver presentations on technical topics to audiences of varying knowledge and level
  • Ability to oversee and maintain computing infrastructure (servers, back-up systems, computer security, network) for resource availability and optimal performance, in a complex environment, which requires a high level of coordination and integration within the departments computing operations.
  • Demonstrated experience with developing scripts that automate systems administration tasks, package deployment and reporting

What you will bring to the role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (or similar) OR equivalent relevant professional experience and raining
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience administering highly complex systems including the ability to design, configure, install, maintain and support enterprise systems and servers; demonstrated skill in complex Active Directory server configuration and administration
  • Technical skills and knowledge of Microsoft Windows OS’s and Applications (Exchange, Active Directory, WSUS, SCCM, O365, AzureAD)
  • Demonstrated experience leading or supervising teams, including performance management, professional development and hiring; ability to effectively balance workload and oversee completion of tasks for assigned team
  • Technical knowledge of virtualization and VDI
  • Strong understanding of communications protocols and services, TCP/IP, HTTPS, DNS, NTP, FTP, SSH, and LDAP
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Mature leadership and management skills
  • Financial skills relating to budgeting and forecasting
  • Ability to explain and present technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Exercises creativity and resourcefulness in solving technical problems
  • You will have the global corporate IT Systems Administration team as direct reports
